We study the site's character, or lack thereof, based on its positive and negative features. This includes views, vistas, elevations, focal points, sun and light patterns. Pictures are taken, measurements are made, questions are asked. In this case, the view was the most compelling aspect.
Broad strokes establish optimal visual and use areas. Design concepts and spatial relationships are developed based on the site's spirit, force lines, sight lines, and flow. Axis, termination points, and sequencing of spaces come into focus.
Deliniation of Space and Design Motif
A design theme is developed and dimensions of use areas are established. Circulation paths are defined. Preliminary material choices are selected. All the features and their relationships are displayed in full color.
3 Dimensional Communication and Analysis
A rendering of the space as viewed by the human eye communicates the vision to us and the client. Revisions in scale, (particularly the vertical), and materials are further developed. Client input refines the look and material choices.
The finished project is only possible with the client's commitment. This a commitment deeply appreciated by Aquatecture. Note from the viewpoint of the rendering the accuracy of the proposed as compared to the realized.
